The idea of establishing an organization to promote civil dialogue and social reconciliation came in the aftermath of the painful February 2011 crisis, which led to social frictions, political polarization and the eruption of sectarian tensions.
We are honored and blessed to have the endorsement of HRH the Crown Prince, who is a concerned Bahraini citizen first and foremost, and cares deeply about the true Bahraini values of tolerance and positive, peaceful coexistence.
The Bahrain Foundation for Dialogue is a private, independent, non-profit, non-political organization that aims to bring together the people of our beloved Kingdom through constructive civil dialogue. We believe that dialogue, positive coexistence, tolerance and collaboration are the most effective methods of combating extremism, sectarianism and hatred.
We are guided by our personal and religious values, inspired by the saying of the Prophet Muhammad [Peace be upon him, his family and his companions] “The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one of the limbs suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever”.
May the Almighty grant us all success and guidance.
